Post-Construction Cleaning Checklist Before Handoff
A final clean is easier to schedule when the superintendent and cleaning team agree on which rooms are ready, what needs attention and when the owner takes possession. Use this checklist before requesting a quote for a Phoenix new build or remodel.
1. Confirm which areas are ready
- List the rooms, floors and common areas in scope. Flag areas where trades are still sanding, cutting or painting.
- Confirm access, working water and power, parking, and who can release each area.
- Agree on who removes construction debris and how the site handles anything requiring special disposal.
2. Match the clean to the construction phase
- Rough clean: clear agreed debris and dust so the next trade can work.
- Final clean: define which floors, glass, fixtures and cabinetry need detailing. Identify delicate surfaces, stickers and residue during the walkthrough.
- Touch-up: plan a return after punch-list work if dust or marks settle again before turnover.
3. Walk the finished space together
Choose a representative area and agree on the expected finish before work begins. At handoff, check thresholds, ledges, cabinet interiors if included, and glass in good light. Record remaining items and who owns each one.
For a quote, have the city, approximate square footage, project type and target handoff date ready. Maria's team uses the walkthrough to confirm scope, labor and availability.
